Flying Fish
Tobiko is the egg from a flying fish and is typically under 1 millimeter in diameter. The natural color of flying fish roe is red-orange and is slightly sweet in flavor with a smoky and salty overtone. Like other types of roe, Tobiko is high in proteins, omega-3 fatty acids, and other nutrients.
More than a Garnish
Tobiko is widely popular amongst sushi restaurants and is valued as a finishing touch, garnish to rolls, as well as enjoyed on its own. Our Tobiko is seasoned using Japanese traditional methods with dashi broth from kelp and bonito without any artificial flavors. We offer five different varieties of Tobiko (black, green, orange, red, and yuzu) which are infused with other natural ingredients to change its color and flavor.
Wasasbi gives the tobiko green an extra kick and its color. Tobiko Orange gets it color and flavor from the added Turmeric ingredient. Tobiko Red is infused with beet and carrot concentrate giving it a slightly sweet taste. Tobiko Black is achieved by adding simple dye. Tobiko Yuzu is flavored with a Japanese citrus fruit giving it a slightly tangy flavor.
