Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar)
Tassal is committed to the health and wellbeing of their salmon. The fish are fed a diet that mimics a wild salmon diet resulting in healthy and delicious salmon.
Traceability from egg to plate.
Tassal salmon farmers produce low amounts of carbon footprints with much less greenhouse gas emission than land-based protein production. Additionally, salmon has one of the lowest Feed Conversion Rates (FCR) of all proteins. Tassal’s traceability program tracks the salmon from egg to plate, resulting in beautiful and healthy fish. The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certified Tassal salmon as sustainable.
As a 100% transparent and sustainable seafood supplier, Royal Hawaiian was one of the first seafood processors in the country to collaborate with the Monterey Bay Seafood Watch program to ensure that we only sell products from fisheries that are responsibly harvested or aquaculture.
